(SSP 5-3-08) Calvin Herman jumped out to the early lead in the 25-lap Street Stock feature event from his pole position.  On the second circuit, Scott Thunberg grabbed the lead from Herman.  Joey Hoffer and Steven Dove quickly entered the battle for the lead behind Thunberg.  As the three cars battled for many laps, Doug Hoffman and Wes Alleman closed in to make it a five car battle.  Hoffman and Alleman both came from row five starting positions.  On lap 18, Alleman took the lead from Thunberg and held on for the victory.  Thunberg finished a strong second, followed by Hoffer, Hoffman and Dove in third, fourth and fifth respectively.  Heats were won by Hoffman and Alleman.

(The Sentinel, Carlisle, Pa. 06-24-02) Hoffman wins at Path Valley  Newville’s Doug Hoffman raced to his second win of the year Friday night at Path Valley Speedway. Hoffman split double street stock features with Tony Stoneberger.  Hoffman’s win came ahead of Weston Alleman and Stoneberger while Stoneberger beat Randy Patterson and Alan Shives.

(The Sentinel, Carlisle, Pa. 06-10-01) Hoffman tops Path Valley Newville’s Doug Hoffman came away with the $1,000 top prize after winning Saturday night’s 30-lap Darin Whitsel Memorial Street Stock feature at Path Valley Speedway Park.  Hoffman’s first win of the year came over Tony Stoneberger and Steve Lowery.

(Path Valley Speedway Press Release 06-08-02)Doug Hoffman, of Newville, pulled alongside leader Tony Stoneberger at the pole on lap seven of the street stock feature and completed his pass out of turn four on the next lap. Then on the next lap Hoffman overtook Brian Helman and Stoneberger used the cars going a lap down to pull alongside Hoffman. A lap 19 restart regrouped the leaders and put Hoffman securely in the lead with Steve Lowery in second but Stoneberger took back that spot on the next circuit and a final lap caution and restart was anticlimactic. Hoffman went on to win the 30 lap feature.  Heat winners were Randy Patterson and Jeff Bennett and Patterson drew a six-car inversion to put Terry Deshong on the pole.

(Hoffman Motorsports 06-01-02) Doug Hoffman was asked to drive G.E.T. Motorsports #99 Late Model on limited schedule for the remainder of the year with the intent to go full time in 2003.  At this time there main track will be Port Royal Speedway running Sat. nights, with other shows possible at other tracks.

(Path Valley Speedway Press Release 04-12-02)The V-8 Street Stocks opened with defending champ Doug Hoffman taking the lead from Randy Patterson on the high line through turns three and four on lap two and then Johnson went to the outside of Hoffman to catch him twice in laps 13 and 14 and finally take the lead on lap 15. It was Johnson’s first ever win at Path Valley and he said he had to learn to drive the car the way it was set up.

(Path Valley Speedway Press Release 11-03-01)Five champions repeated 2000 season titles including Doug Hoffman of Newville in the Friday night V-8 Street Stock class and Saturday karters Jimmy Slaseman in caged rookies, Andy Burkholder in junior restricted, Brad Thomas in heavy’s and Keith Gillam in junior champ. State champion karters will be announced by the Pennsylvania Dirt Karters Association.

(Path Valley Speedway Press Release 08/17/01) Randy Patterson stayed ahead of crashes, spins and lost wheels among the street stocks with Weston Alleman and Doug Hoffman racing side by side for second just behind him. Steve Bailor, who had to start 12th for winning the week before, won the first heat and Hoffman won the second, but the pill draw put Patterson on the pole. The top ten were Patterson, Alleman, Hoffman, John Heane, Steve Lowery, Bailor, Jeff Johnson, Dave Fahnestock, Josh Gastof and Wayne Hawbaker.

(Path Valley Speedway Press Release 08/10/01) Steve Bailor battled Weston Alleman through the early laps in the street stock feature and after Alleman disqualified for rough driving Bailor raced a turn ahead of defending champ Doug Hoffman who had his hands full staying ahead of Randy Patterson. The top five were Bailor, Hoffman, Patterson, Wayne Hawbaker and Jeff Johnson and the heat winners were Patterson and Steve Lowery.

(Path Valley Speedway Press Release 08/03/01) The V-8 Street Stocks put the finishing thrills on the night's fast races as Randy Patterson took the lead from Jeff Johnson in the first half and then gave it up on the final lap when he threw a wheel over the turn three fence.
That gave the lead and the win a lap later to Doug Hoffman who had started seventh and passed Johnson for the second spot on lap 17. Patterson and Shawn Whitsel won the heat races and the front five were Hoffman, Johnson, Weston Alleman, Rich Black and Wayne Hawbaker.

(Path Valley Speedway Press Release 07/20/01) Jimmy Brookens of Fayetteville in the 270cc sprints, Doug
Hoffman of Newville in the V-8 Street Stocks and Butch Brough of Newville in the Legends Cars each won their second feature of the season Friday night at the Path Valley Speedway Park. After running bumper to bumper Doug Hoffman got to the inside of Weston Alleman through turns one and two on lap thirteen and then beat him to the checkered flag by no more than two car lengths for his second win this season. Hoffman and Alleman won the heats and Alleman started on the pole. The first five finishers were Hoffman, Alleman, Randy Patterson, Wayne Hawbaker and Steve Bailor.

(Path Valley Speedway Press Release 07/06/01) Steve Bailor won the ten-car street stock heat race and drew an invert eight pill that put Dave Fahnestock on the pole. Doug Hoffman started fourth and took the lead on lap two but gave it up to Fedder on a lap nine restart. Fedder, Hoffman, Bailor, Weston Alleman and Terry Deshong were the front five finishers with the front three within the length of four cars.

(Path Valley Speedway Press Release 06/08/01) After going side by side the first two laps, Weston Alleman got a lead of less than a length ahead of Randy Patterson. On lap 16 Patterson and Steve Bard each lost a rear wheel coming out of turn two and then Alleman raced to the checkers as John Heane and defending champion Doug Hoffman battled side by side for second. Heane settled for third with Earl Tabb fourth and Harry Peffer completing the top
five. Patterson and Hoffman won the heats.

(The Sentinel, Carlisle, Pa. 05-14-01) HOFFMAN AT PATH VALLEY Newville’s Doug Hoffman raced to the win in Friday night’s street stock feature at Path Valley Speedway Park. Hoffman’s first win this year came over Randy Patterson and Weston Alleman.

(Path Valley Speedway Press Release 05/11/01) Defending champion Ricky Harper of Three Springs won his first of the year in the modified mini stocks,and defending street stock champion Doug Hoffman of Newville won his first feature this season in the V8 street stocks.  Doug Hoffman waited until lap ten to find the fast outside line past leady Randy Patterson and then he put a lapped car between them to win by about three car lengths. Finish order was Hoffman, Patterson, Weston Alleman, Wayne Hawbaker, Chad Leininger, John Heane, James Andrews Jr., Steve Lowery, Harry Peffer, Earl Tabb, Don Bilger, and Brian Brougher. Hoffman and Steve Lowery won the heats.

(Path Valley Speedway Press Release 05/04/01) John Heane led start to finish in the V8 Street Stocks with Doug Hoffman right behind from lap eight on. Six yellow flags kept the cars grouped and the top five pack were Heane, Hoffman, Randy Patterson, Wayne Hawbaker and Steve Lowery. Heane and Lowery won the heat races.

(Path Valley Speedway Press Release 03/31/01) Doug Hoffman passed Wes Alleman on lap nine of the V8 Street Stock feature and led all but the final 200 feet. Coming out of turn four on the last lap Aaron Neuder used a lap down car to box Hoffman out and won by two lengths with John Heane second and Hoffman third. The rest of the finishers were Alleman, Wayne Hawbaker, Steve Lowery, Don Bilger, Earl Tabb and Randy Patterson. Neuder won the single heat. Zero Ice of Chambersburg posted bonus money for the first and last place cars.

(Hoffman Motorsports Press Release 12/15/00) Every one on Doug Hoffman's #27 team is ready to start dancing now that the 2000 points season is done and we are officially the 2000 Path Valley Speedway Street Stock Track Champions.  We have had a great year and would like to thank every one that was a part of are success for the 2000 season.  We would also like to thank Randy Patterson (driver of the 03 Street Stock) and all the other drivers for a good and clean racing season at the Path Valley Speedway.  And as always we would like to thank all the fans that came to the track every week to watch and cheer us all on, with out the fans we wouldn't be racing and having the fun that we are, Thank You.
